To preface my log of two days online, I’d like to say that I rarely get online because I need something, I mostly use my computer as a way of entertainment when I’m bored. Therefore, I start out on Friday getting on the internet at about 11:00 am. My immediate reaction is to log onto Facebook. I looked at my news feed for about five minutes and moved onto yahoo news. There, I read an article and then checked my yahoo email. Because most of my emails from the school and other organizations don’t directly affect me, I just deleted a lot of them and went back on Facebook. I didn’t post any statuses but I did add one of my brother’s friends to be my friend. After a break from the time-wasting internet, I got back on to waste more time. I looked at Facebook again, and then I listened to Tom Petty on Youtube. Then, I got on msn and decided I’d spend a little bit more time on Stumble Upon. I probably spent an hour on this and then didn’t get on the internet until the next day. As a way of recovering from the previous days activities that kept me away from surfing the web, I decided that most my day would be spent online. Starting at 1:42, I looked at MSN’s news and horoscopes. After that, I checked assignments on Blackboard. I then proceeded to log onto yahoo and check my email. After logging onto yahoo, I went to DU Portfolio to read an assignment for my class. At 2:09, I used good to find a definition, looked at weather.com because it had suddenly started snowing, and then looked Google map to help my roommate find the nearest Sports Authority. I went on Youtube to watch the year’s most popular videos, checked prices on ski bindings, and checked Facebook and my Hotmail email account. Overall, my second day on the internet seemed to be more useful and academic than the first, but, I still wasted a copious amount of time.
